Randy Brown, M.A.

Randy is a Colorado-based educator and documentary photographer, who is a RMCAD alum with an MA in Design Strategy. Randy has been the recipient of three RMCAD Faculty Development Grants, the Recipient of the Hal Gould Vision in Photography Award from the Colorado Photographic Art Center, and his work is in the collection of the Denver Art Museum and many private and corporate collections. He is also a recipient of an artist residency from the MacDowell Colony and the Villa Montalvo Center for the Arts. His work has been exhibited in more than 40 gallery exhibitions.

Randy’s documentary work is centered around the socio/cultural issues of climate change and drought, anthropological portraits in Borneo, Sumatra, and Java, as well as the existential threat to farming and ranching culture through water grabs from urban centers. He is passionate about working with his students to create success in the classroom which will guarantee success as photography professionals. Randy’s favorite part of being a part of the RMCAD community is the wonderful opportunity to mentor his students and most importantly, to learn from them. In this environment, they are all continuous learners and he wholeheartedly embraces that. When not working, he loves to cook, travel, explore and gain knowledge and experiences that refresh his life.
