With a nod to surrealism and lush with innuendo, Belanger’s sculptures reveal deep, often obfuscated truths found in our sexual and spiritual desires. Her work exposes advertising‘s manipulation of our insecurities and passionate thirsts by being both visually satiating and cartoonishly absurdist. This sharp and revelatory wit confronts the contradictory nature of subconscious yearning with a cunning and flirtatious wink.
