A Letter from RMCAD President Brent Fitch
Dear members of the RMCAD family,
As my first week as the President of Rocky Mountain College for Art + Design comes to a close, I feel not only humbled but also honored to be joining such a phenomenally creative, innovative and collaborative learning institution. Each one of you plays an important role in the RMCAD Family, and I am thrilled to fulfill my dream of leading such a community. Built on a rich tradition of helping its members make their expressive mark on the world, RMCAD is a place where we will achieve our goals together.
My predecessor, Chris Spohn, had a vision to show the artistic world that we are no longer Denver’s best kept secret. We are leaders in developing talent, creating passion, and innovating for the arts, and we’re proud of it. He positioned the College to grow, and so I must thank not only President Spohn but also the staff and faculty members that worked to bring that vision to life. Most importantly, I am grateful to you, our students, for trusting RMCAD to help transform your dreams into realities one assignment, one course and one degree at a time.
Together, we will embark on a new journey. We will leverage the efforts, successes, and guiding principles put in place by the RMCAD 2018-2022 Strategic Plan to construct our future. Your needs will shape this new plan, and I will dedicate myself to overcoming the current challenges that we face.
Most notably, we are all facing unprecedented times coping with the COVID-19 pandemic. Please know that our efforts to support this family and ensure your health and safety are unwavering. Faculty and administrators are still working diligently to prepare for our prospective return to campus in the Fall, and updates will continue to be posted on the rmcad.edu/covid19 page as they are available.
I want to thank you for being a part of our past and helping us build a bright future. Transparency and interaction will be the foundations of our creative connection, and I can’t wait to engage with each of you over the next few months. In the meantime, I am always here to serve. If you wish to contact me, my virtual door is always open.
