Scholarships

RMCAD offers several types of scholarships to prospective students, based on a combination of merit, talent, community service, and passion. Whether you’re a born artist with an advanced portfolio, a star student, or someone who knows your greatest promise lies ahead at RMCAD, we want to help you on your way to pursuing your dream.

Admissions Scholarships

Academic Scholarship

Based on both your cumulative GPA and two letters of recommendation. Award amounts up to $2,400 per term.

Artistic Scholarship

Based on a portfolio of your best artwork. Award amounts up to $2,650 per term.

First-Generation Scholarship

Given to select first-generation college students based on two letters of recommendation from family members. Award amounts up to $2,500 per term.

Legacy Scholarship

One scholarship awarded to a high school senior whose parent (or parents) graduated from RMCAD. Based on a portfolio of your work along with a letter from your alum parent. Award amount is up to $2,000 per term.

RMCAD Grant

These grants are for those students who have the drive and passion to be successful RMCAD students, but might not qualify for an Academic or Artistic Scholarship. These grants are awarded at the sole discretion of the Vice President of Admissions. Award amounts up to $2,650 per term.

Presidential + Provost Scholarships

These scholarships were created to recognize a student's potential to make significant contributions to the art and design world. The Portfolio Review Committee nominates select applicants who are then asked to submit an essay to complete eligibility. One Presidential and two Provost scholarship winners will be chosen each academic year. The Provost award amounts are up to $7,500 per term and the Presidential award amount is up to $10,000 per term.

Community Scholarships

RMCAD grants generous scholarships at a variety of community events including school district art shows, congressional district art shows, National Portfolio Days, and the Scholastic Art Awards of Colorado with award amounts up to $2,500 per term.
